About Our Team!

Text Box: The Hell’s Canyon – Last Call Racing Team competes in the Hare Scrambles division of Florida Trail Riders (see www.FloridaTrailRiders.org).

A “Hare Scramble” is an off-road motorcycle race over a course that is about 8 to 12 miles long. Racers attempt to complete as many laps as possible in a 2-hour period (usually 3-5 laps). The course is mostly narrow wooded trails, but also includes fields, dirt roads, and sometimes includes a motocross track. It is similar to an Enduro, but shorter. Racers are divided into different classes based on age, experience, and/or bike size. FTR puts on about 15 races per season all over Florida. It is an individual sport, but there is also a team competition system. Each team has 5 to 8 members, and may enter up to 5 racers at each event. The scores of the top 3 finishers for each team are combined for that week’s team score.

“Hell’s Canyon” was the name that my neighborhood kids gave the abandoned quarry down at the end of my (Still Bill’s) street. I formed the “team” around 2008 to help out the kids and get them (and myself) into organized racing. It wasn’t really a team back then, but we had cool T-shirts! Those kids drifted away from racing as they got older, but at the start of the 2011-2012 FTR season, I decided to form a “real” FTR team. My buddy, Jason Garret, had been calling his family’s racing efforts “Last Call Racing”. We joined forces and formed “Hell’s Canyon – Last Call Racing”. My buddy Tom McGinnity was already an honorary HCRT member, so he was our next real member. We have picked-up a few more members along the way (see RIDERS).

We also have a few honorary members, including Jason’s kids and his dad. Some of our members also compete in Enduro and/or MotoCross racing.
